BIOS

Brent Johnson has coached soccer for more than 18 years, leading a number of teams to state and tournament championships. He started his coaching career in Rochester, MN coaching 9th grade, JV and Varsity boys at several area high schools. Johnson was named Minnesota High School Soccer Coaches' Assoc. Section Coach of the Year (3 years) and State Coach of the Year in 2006. He was also an assistant and trainer for club teams: RTPDL and RYSA. He currently is the assistant varsity coach at Creekside High School. Johnson holds a USSF "C" and the National Youth "Y" License.

Carlos Almeida holds a USSF National 'C' License, U6/8 Module Coaching License, USSF Goalkeeping Certificate. Carlos also is Assistant Coach of Nease High School Boys Varsity since 2008/2009 season State Runner up class 4A. Born in Brazil, played soccer from elementary school to college. He moved to the U.S. in 1992 and to Jacksonville in 2000, since that time has coached at CAA at all levels of play: recreational, developmental, and premier.

Charlie Bentivegna holds a USSF National 'D' License, a NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma, and a Goalkeeping Level 1 (FYSA) certificate. As a coach for more than fifteen years, Bentivegna has coached at Ponte Vedra Soccer Club and CAA, leading several teams to tournament championships. Since 2009, Bentivegna has coached Junior Varsity boys soccer at Creekside High School and is the assistant Varsity boys soccer coach.

Dave Gully is a native of England and holds a National B License, UEFA B License, State Goalkeeping Diploma, English Youth License, and Director of Coaching Diploma. He has worked for two English professional football clubs: Queens Park Rangers F.C. (2001-2006) and Chelsea F.C. (2004). Gully has worked at CAA for nearly 5 years as a club trainer and is the Director of Recreation. He also served as head coach to the U17 Boys (2009-2010) and U18 Boys (2010-2011). As head soccer coach at Creekside High School for the past three years, Gully led the team to the state playoffs in 2010-2011.

Dave Silverberg was the Girls Varsity Head Coach at Nease High School for 7 years, leading them as the became State Champion in 2002, 2005, 2006, and 2008. After that, he was named Head Coach of Girls Varsity at Ponte Vedra High School in 2008. Silverberg coached the team to State Champions in 2009 and State Semi-finalist in 2011. He also coached club soccer at JYS from 1995-2001 leading teams to state semi-finalists and state runner-up.

Derick Wertz is a soccer player, coach and referee with 23+ years of experience. He began his soccer career at Elizabethtown Area High School (PA) as a varsity starter for 4 years, winning various MVP awards and All-Section Honors 1st Team. Wertz also excelled playing club soccer for Premiere F.C., where his team won numerous tournament championships. In college, he played for Division I NCJAA Nationally ranked Mercer County Community college (Trenton, NJ). Wertz has coached youth soccer at the YMCA, club soccer at JYSC, and JV at Nease High School. 

Ekle Small a native of Barbados, played soccer in Barbados for Harrison College. He has coached soccer since 2005 and premier soccer since 2008. Small holds an "E" license.

Emile Therrien has been coaching with Creeks Soccer for 4 years, spending 3 years in the COE Boys program and 1 year in boys Premiere. Emile is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a bachelor's degree in Physiological Sciences, and holds a NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma. Emile is also the Head Coach of Fruit Cove Middle School Boys team, 2010/2011 St. Johns County Middle School Champions.

Fernando Duffoo was born in Lima, Peru and has been coaching competitive soccer for approximately 14 years. He started coaching in Miami at various clubs (Kendall Hammocks Soccer, Southern Soccer, and Cutler Ridge Soccer) and recently began coaching at CAA. Currently, Duffoo is the assistant Head Coach for Nease High School boys team and Goalkeeper Coach for both the varsity and JV teams. He helped lead the Nease team to three state finals in the Class 4A State Championship, winning two of the last five. Duffoo holds an NSCAA D license along with a National Goalkeeper license.

Jen West played for the University of North Florida, the W-League Team, Jacksonville Jade (1999-2002), and currently plays in BASL and Jaxsport soccer leagues for various coed and women's teams. West's coaching experience includes Assistant Coach of Jacksonville Jade, under head coach, Dan Blank (2002), and Head Varsity Soccer Coach at Bartram Trail High School for 10 years (2000-2011.) During that time, the Bartram Girls Soccer team has won 5 District Championships, 3 consecutive Conference Championships, 1 Regional Championship, and the team was the 2009-2010 State Runner-ups.

Jenna Silverberg is an assistant coach to her father at CAA. Jenna was a member of the 2001/2001 Jacksonville Jade. She attended Nease High School and played for the team when they won the State Championship. She was named the Florida Times Union Player of the Year and the St. Augustine Record Player of the Year in 2003. Additionally, Jenna was selected for the first team All-State. She played for Western Kentucky University and was selected twice as first team All-Conference. Jenna was voted WKU player of the decade.

Johnny Sarpi has a college degree in physical education and holds a USSF National 'C' License and USSF Goalkeeping Certificate. Sarpi began his soccer coaching career in his native country of Brazil, coaching a women's indoor soccer team. For the past 5 years, Coach Sarpi has served as head coach for several competitive teams at CAA, including the U18 boys team, leading the team to the Regional Cup Championship (2008). For the past 4 years he has coached at Nease High School for the Boys Varsity team, 2007/2008 State Champion (as assistant coach) and 2008/2009 State Runner up (as head coach) class 4A.

Jorge Gomez was born in Colombia, South America and moved to New York at age 15. He later went on to play goal keeper for the German Hungarians and New York Ukrainians in the Semi-Pro Cosmopolitan League from 1978 - 1990. After moving to Florida in 1992, Gomez began his coaching career with the Plantation Eagles, where he coached several teams to tournament and Regional Championships. Since that time, Coach Gomez has coached club soccer at Ponte Vedra and CAA. He also coaches high school soccer at Bishop Snyder. Gomez holds a USSF 'D' License.

Linda Hamilton holds a USSF National 'A' License and State and Regional GK License. While playing for N.C. State, Hamilton was named ACC Player of the Year (1988) and three-time All-American (1987, 88, 89). Hamilton's impressive career includes an eight-year stint on the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team from 1987-95 as a defender and marking back, when she appeared in 82 international games. Hamilton was a starter for two World Cup teams that earned medals: the 1991 gold-medal squad and the 1995 bronze-medal team. Hamilton is Head Coach of the UNF Women's Soccer program.

Michael Weflen played three years of varsity soccer for Anderson University (Indiana, NCAA Division III Men's Soccer) where his team won the HCAC Conference Championship twice. After graduation, he coached the JV team at Anderson and assisted the varsity. In 2005 Weflen moved to Jacksonville, assisting with the boys varsity soccer team at Bartram Trail High School. Named head coach at Bartram in 2006, he has coached for 6 years and led the team to District Runner Up and Regional semifinalist. Weflen holds a USSF National 'E' License and a Florida State Educator's Certificate for Athletic Coaching.

Mike Pickett was a NCAA Division I player at South Carolina University. Coaching recognition includes: the FACA Class 2A Coach of the Year, the North Florida Soccer Officials Association Coach of the Year, and the Dairy Farmer's Class 2A Florida State Coach of the Year. As head coach for St. Johns Country Day 2A girls soccer team, the team has won 3 state titles. His current team at CAA was State Cup Runner up and is currently competing in the State Cup Final Four for the second year in a row.

Nelson Quintanilla has coached recreational, premier and COE soccer at CAA since 2005. Quintanilla coached a U16 girls team to the finals in the District Commissioners Cup (Spring 2010). Quintanilla also led a state cup U13 girls team to a championship in the Tallahassee Invitational (March 2011). Additionally, Quintanilla is head coach of the JV Girls Soccer team at Bartram Trail high school (since 2009). In 2011 he led the team to winning a regional JV championship (Timberwolf JV Classic). Quintanilla holds a USSF D license.

Phong Le played four years of high school soccer and eight years in the North Florida Men's Soccer League. He began his coaching career in 1994 as Head Varsity Girls Coach at Stanton College Preparatory. After that, he coached the Boys Varsity Team at Paxon School for Advanced Studies for 5 years. Since 2003, Le has been the Head Varsity Girls Coach at Paxon. He has received the Gateway Conference Outstanding Girls Soccer Coach Award for 4 years and led the girls to the championship for 3 years. He has coached club soccer for JYSC, CAA, Jaguars, and Clay.

Randy Zamparelli played high school soccer in Dallas, Texas (his team was state runner up) and club soccer (won district championships two years in a row while playing up a year). Zamparelli was also named to the North Texas ODP for two years. After high school, Zamparelli played college soccer for Texas Tech University. As a coach for the past 5 years, Zamparelli has lead two CAA teams to several tournament championships. In 2009 his CAA team won Region Cup and President's Cup. Zamparelli holds a D coaching license.

Roye Locklear played collegiate soccer at The University of Alabama-Huntsville (NCAA Division II) from 1988-1992, earning All-South honors his senior year. After his collegiate career, Locklear spent two years with the Vancouver 86ers of the American Professional Soccer League. From 1995-1998, Locklear played for the Jacksonville Cyclones of the A-League, a developmental club for former Major League Soccer franchises: the Miami Fusion and Tampa Bay Mutiny. Coaching experience includes assistant coach and head coach for the All-Army soccer team, JV coach for Nease, and varsity boys head coach for Bishop Kenny High School.

Stefani Patterson grew up playing soccer in Jacksonville. As captain of her travel team for Clay County Soccer Club, she helped lead her team to victory in numerous regional championships. In high school Patterson played varsity all 4 years and received several prestigious awards. Patterson went on to play soccer for Southern Wesleyan University (NAIA Division I), where she continued her dominance of the sport, receiving countless awards in addition to leading her team to their best season ever. After Patterson graduated in 2008, she became a soccer trainer and worked with Clay County Soccer Club. 

Stanford Lugg holds a National Soccer Coaching C License equivalent, an Adult Soccer Coaching License (Florida State Soccer Association), and a High School Athletics Coaching certificate from Duval County School Board. Lugg has more than 30 years experience playing soccer in Jamaica, the United States, and Europe. As a coach and trainer for more than 20 years, he has led a number of teams to championships in various tournaments for several local clubs: Jacksonville Jaguars, CCSC, FCSC, and CAA. Stanford also was the head boys coach at N.B. Forrest High School in Jacksonville, FL for 3 years.

Udo Schenatzky : Udo holds a NSCAA Regional Diploma, he is assistant coach and goalkeeper coach for the Florida Institute of Technology. Udo is one of the first youth Bundesliga goalkeeper coaches ever, six years youth Bundesliga Coach for Eintracht Frankfurt (89-94), coached Oka Nikolov (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Carsten Nulle (SC Freiburg), FYSA ODP State GK coach, Tony Dicicco "Soccer Plus"  Staff Coach, ODP Europe staff coach (US  youth Soccer Region 1), Former GK coach for Barry University, Miami, USL National ODP Staff GK coach ( 2005), Member and Coach of the German National GK school Andy Koepke  (German National GK coach), Staff coach of  European Intersport Soccer Camps (biggest soccer camp organization in Europe).
